Glutamine is an amino acid supplement that is used to prevent and treat stomach and intestinal damage, and pancreatitis. It may be helpful for conditions such as parvovirus, leaky gut and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Chron’s, IBS and Ulcerative Colitis, and during chemotherapy.

Glutamine plays a role in the health of the immune system, digestive tract, and muscle cells, as well as other bodily functions. L-Glutamine regulates the nitrogen balance in the body. This can be extremely beneficial for those that have gastrointestinal issues.

Heavy exercise, infection, surgery, and trauma can also deplete the body’s glutamine reserves, particularly in muscle cells. It can take up to a few weeks to notice a difference in your pet after adding Glutamine.

Use cautiously in pets with severe liver disease or seizures. Should not be combined with anticonvulsants.

Most effective if powder is mixed with water and administered directly into the animal’s mouth with a syringe as opposed to added to food.

Start low and work up to:

Up to 25lbs – 1/8 teaspoon (0.625g) twice daily
26-50lbs – 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) twice daily
Over 51lbs – 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) twice daily
